I am from village Shindisi, Gori. I was down in the bakery when intensive bombing started, six bombs fell right next to my house. I don't know why I didn't hear the sound, I must have been very upset and confused. I was alone at home, I opened the doors and was just standing there, for some time I couldn't even move. I couldn't see anything in the yard. When I went to street, I saw my neighbors down on earth – the blow from bombs had swept them from their feet. I couldn't see some of the guys (neighbors) and I was afraid for them. But then it turned out they'd gone to the next village and came back.
My house was not destroyed yet when we left. But the furniture, glasses, dishes were all broken. Still we didn't leave that day. I was thinking that it would get better. So we were hiding in a neighbor's cellar for 2 days and nights.
My daughter-in-law and two grandchildren had already left couple of days ago. So we were alone – my son and me. My son stayed there when I left on the 10th. And he left to Sachkhere – where his wife and children are – next day.
There are relatives and neighbors who stayed there, we cannot get in touch with them any more – electricity is cut off and they cannot charge their cell phones.
Here we are more or less ok thanks to god and people. We have enough food now – bread and sausages. We can stay one week more. After that we hope very much that we'll be able to get back. The villages maybe mined but hopefully they'll clean it. As long as the walls of our houses are there we don't need anything else, if nothing worse than this happens we'll be fine!

12. After the air attack that took place on 9 August, 2008 I had to leave my house in village Shindisi. I went with my wife and 17-year-old children. My 74-year-old father and 70-year-old mother didn't leave the village, they stayed there. While attacking, a bomb fell in my neighbourhood and I got injured by the pieces of the bomb, so that I got corporal injury on the whole body and head, 60 peaces were removed from my body. First I was treated in a military hospital but then was taken by an ambulance to a hospital in Kaspi. There were some rumours that the Russian aircrafts would attack Kaspi too, so my family members took me to Tbilisi. Now I am with my family in public school No 130, in Tbilisi.

I say with the full responsibility that aweful things happened in my village, right next to me. There were shootings from automatic rifles, as well as bombardments and shelling. The incident continued for several hours, days. The incident was carried out by war plane, tank and military personnel. They were talking in Russian. All this was happening while I was there – on 2-3th of August. Since the morning hours and during the entire day I was in my house. The Georgian army was stationed nearby, at some distance. There was an assault in my presentce, and there was an assault on myself as well. I have neither photo nor video material as an evidence, as I was unable to film it. I had injuries on my body. I could not see the doctor, because I was physically unable to reach one. Therefore I cured myself locally.
I support the idea of submitting a formal complaint to court; when we were refuged in Gori a bomb was dropped right in front of our eyes. The bomb blowed up the territory and broke the window glasses.
The facts that I describe are true and I hereby sign.
